Günter Bauer (Mödling Austria, 1971) is founder of FINISHING DUTCH RETAIL DESIGN. In 1998 he graduated at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. After working as an Industrial Design Engineer from 1998 till 2001 at Albert Heijn, where he developed innovative check-out systems, he established the office of FINISHING DUTCH RETAIL DESIGN in 2001. From 2001 till 2007 FINISHING DUTCH developed a variety of designs among others for Albert Heijn, Etos, Philips, Marks&Spencer, Checkpoint, MARS and Kraft Foods. From 2006 till 2010 he joined the team of Jos the Vries The Retail Company. In his function as Creative Director he developed several category- and shopdesigns such as for Zoo&CO (GER), Frankonia (GER), Siwa (FIN), HEMA (NL), Eurogast C&C (AUT), Collishop (BEL), Bellandris (GER), Kelfort (NL), Welke (GER), Aldipress (NL), Burda (GER), Coca Cola (ESP) and Kozmo (CRO). In order to share his insides and experience with the future generation designers and retail professionals, Gunter Bauer has been a part-time tutor at Delft University of Technology (1999-2010) and has given several lectures the past years on trade fairs, forums and events. Since 2010 Günter works together with Gertrud at finishing dutch on retail design and architecture projects.
From 2010 until today Günter still works together with JDV on several occasions such as for Migros (CH), Eurogast (AUT), Lagerhaus (AUT), Magnum (KAZ).

Gertrud Topper (Leeuwarden, 1971) works as an architect and consultant at FINISHING DUTCH RETAIL DESIGN. In 1998 she graduated cum laude at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture. After working from 1998 till 2000 as a project manager at Octatube Engineering where she developed design and build constructions, she worked for 9 years as an architect at BRTArchitecten in Alkmaar. In this period she designed several public and private buildings. In 2009 she started her own practice as an independent architect. From 1999 up until now she worked several times as a part-time tutor at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture.
